Time to soak up some warm summer music and find some great books… and then go hear some more music… maybe see a movie. But relax, because it’s that kind of weekend. Enjoy! (and hope to see you, too!)

Friday from 6 to 8pm, E. Church St. (near City Hall), Bethlehem

3. Opening of Ajami at 19th St. Theatre

Friday at 8pm, (more shows Saturday and Sunday), Civic Theatre, 527 N. 19th St., Allentown

Good movies do come to the Valley! Here’s a great example. From Civic’s website: Set in Jaffa’s multi-ethnic Ajami neighborhood, home to Jews, Muslims and Christians, this Oscar-nominated film’s use of location filming, non-professional actors and balanced perspective make a complex, cross-cultural drama all the more real.

4. June Bug Jamboree

Saturday from 10am to 1pm at the Easton Farmers’ Market, Centre Square, Easton

A celebration of the bugs! This one-day event at EFM features a Lady Bug Tea Party and a Bug Parade. The Market Grill will feature Doreen Harvest of Green Harvest cooking Panini pizzas so bring the kids and maybe go easy on the bug spray. 🙂

5. Moravian Book Shop’s Local Authors’ Day

Saturday from Noon to 3pm, Moravian Book Shop, 428 Main St., Bethlehem

Moravian Book Shop is hosting an afternoon with authors from around the Lehigh Valley who have written books about various topics, for all ages. Come out and support these local authors! (Shameless plug: I’ll be there, too, with pocket guides to Bethlehem and Easton, so come say hi!)

6. 2010 New to You Sale

Saturday from 9am to 3pm, Sunday from Noon to 3pm, Burnside Plantation, 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem

Presented by Historic Bethlehem Partnership, here’s a great place to find some new things at great prices! From the facebook event page: Sometimes the things you would like to lose are exactly what someone else is looking for. Join us for a weekend-long swap and purchase and seek your own treasure!

7. Allentown Public Library Summer Saturdays Book Sale

From the Library: The sale will include lots of used & “like new” books including best-sellers, classics, paperbacks, children’s books & more. Lots of great books and lots of great deals! All proceeds help the Allentown Public Library so please stop by and please help spread the word!

8. Maria Woodford & Jake Heck Live

Saturday from 8 to 10:30 pm, Connexions Gallery, 213 Northampton St., Easton

Should be a great night to see this talented duo. The show is free and BYOB and if the weather’s good, they’ll perform in the garden! For more information, visit the facebook event page.

9. MS Fundraiser Dinner for MS Bike Team GO DOG GO

Sunday from 5 to 7 pm, Mex Tex Trio, 42 S. Third St., Easton

So how’s this for a cool way to do some good… all you have to do is go have a great dinner at Mex Tex Trio Sunday night, and 20% of your bill will be donated to the National MS Society. Pretty good deal, right?

Ever since you started posting these I’ve been reading them to see what fun stuff to do over the weekend (no, seriously.) So, keep it up, just don’t post it so close to 5 p.m. next time I was worried!

lol… thanks for your comment, Mr. withLOVE. I didn’t mean to worry you, just had a busy day. You must have been too busy last week to notice my 5pm (Pacific Time) post last Friday.

Thanks for checking out the list and hope you have a great weekend!
